Secret Location Announcements

With our secret location announcer tool, you’ll have the option to automatically email ticket holders venue details whilst keeping the location hidden on your event page.

You can specify the email content and when the email is sent. We’ll also send the email to customers who purchase a ticket after this time. E.g. if you notify customers about the location 5 hours before the event but people buy tickets 4 hours before the event, they will also receive the email.

This feature is only enabled for some promoters. Please contact your account manager if you would like to use this feature. If you don’t have an account manager, please fill out this form.

Here’s how it works

  1. When submitting an event or updating an event, in the / Basic section, select "Venue TBA"
  2. Select the country and area where your event will be held and edit the "Displayed as" field or leave it as "TBA"
  3. Check the box that says "Announce venue details to ticket holders via email"
  4. In the "Email message" box, let ticket holders know where the event will be and any directions or instructions to help ticket holders find the venue. You can include a link. This can be edited before the email is triggered
  5. Select the date and time you want to notify customers about the location of your event
  6. Or, if you want to notify customers straight after they purchase a ticket, select "Email ticket holders immediately after ticket purchase"
  7. When you submit/save the event, your settings will be saved and the email will be triggered at the time you choseOn your event page, we’ll display a message under ‘Venue’ to let customers know they will be emailed the venue details

FAQs

  • Which email address will the email be sent from? The email will be sent by Resident Advisor ([email protected]) which means your emails are likely to be seen by ticket holders
  • What if I email ticket holders the venue location, and then the location changes? In this situation, please contact [email protected] who will be able to help
  • Will the email be sent to my Guest list? The tool does not currently email people on the Guest list.
  • How will I know the emails have been sent to customers? The emails will always be sent at the time you choose, but if you want to be certain the emails have been sent, we advise you to create a free hidden ticket on your event and purchase one. You will receive an email at the time you chose.
  • How will the email look? The email will start

    ‘‘Hi {first name},

Here are the venue details for {event name}"

    {your email message}

  • How can I track any customers that may have not received the emails? The emails can take several minutes to arrive, and they could also fall in customers’ spam/junk folders, so please ask customers to be patient and check their spam/junk folder. If you’re still unsure about an email being sent, please contact [email protected] who will be able to help.
