Import tickets sold on external platforms to use in RA Scan
If you've sold tickets for your event through another platform — for example DICE, See Tickets, Skiddle or Ticketmaster — you can import those tickets into your RA event. Once imported, they can be scanned on the door with RA Scan alongside the tickets you've sold on RA, and they'll count towards your entry stats.

Getting started
What you'll need
- Access to RA Pro with ticketing permissions for your event
- A CSV file of the tickets you've sold, exported from each external platform
- The RA Scan app installed on your scanning devices, ready for the event itself
Where to find it Log in to RA Pro, open your event and go to the External ticket import page.
Good to know
- Importing is a manual process. RA doesn't connect directly to third-party platforms, so you'll need to export a file from each one yourself.
- You import separately for each platform, so your tickets stay grouped by where they were sold.
- You can upload as many files as you need to the same platform. Each upload is added to that platform's existing tickets rather than replacing them.
- You can import as many times as you need to before your event.
Preparing your file
Select Download CSV template on the import page to get a correctly formatted file to work from.
Your file needs three columns:
- barcode — the barcode on the ticket, as issued by the external platform. Every barcode must be unique.
- name — the name of the person the ticket was sold to. This is what your door staff will search for if they need to check someone in manually.
- type — the ticket tier name, for example General Admission, VIP or Early Bird. This doesn't need to match a ticket tier you've set up on RA. Whatever you enter is what your door staff will see in RA Scan, and tickets sharing the same type are grouped together, so use clear and consistent names.
Pro Tips:
- Column order doesn't matter, and any extra columns are ignored — so you can usually import a platform's export with very little editing.
- Column headers must be spelled exactly barcode, name and type, including the capital letter.
Barcodewon't be accepted. - Save the file as a CSV with UTF-8 encoding. Accents, non-Latin scripts and emoji are all fully supported in names.
- Each file must be no larger than 1MB. If your export is bigger than that, split it into several smaller files and import them one after another.
Importing your tickets
- Log in to RA Pro and open the External ticket import page for your event.
- Select Import tickets.
- Add the ticket outlet you're importing from, for example DICE, See Tickets or Skiddle.
- Drag and drop your CSV file, or select it from your device.
- Select Import tickets to finish.
- Repeat for each platform you've sold tickets through.
⚠️ If your file won't upload
If anything in the file is wrong, none of it is imported — the whole file is rejected and you'll see an error explaining what the problem is. Nothing will have been saved, so you can correct the file and try again.
Viewing your imported tickets
Once a file has been imported, you can check the tickets have come through correctly on the same page:
- The All tab lists every ticket imported for the event.
- Each outlet tab lists only the tickets imported from that platform.
- Every tab shows a count, so you can check the number against your export from the external platform.
Deleting imported tickets (coming soon)
If you've imported the wrong file, or need to replace one with a corrected version, you can remove imported tickets and start again.
⚠️ Before you delete
- Deleting can't be undone. If you remove tickets by mistake, you'll need to import them again.
- Only unscanned tickets are deleted. Any ticket that has already been scanned or rejected stays in place, so you won't lose your door data.
- Go to the tab for the outlet whose tickets you want to remove — or the All tab to remove every imported ticket for the event in one go.
- Select the delete option.
- Confirm by selecting Delete tickets.
Good to know
- Because every barcode has to be unique, importing a file you've already imported will fail.
- To replace a file, delete the tickets for that outlet first, then import the corrected file.
Scanning imported tickets
Imported tickets work just like tickets sold on RA. RA Scan reads both QR codes and standard barcodes, so barcodes issued by other platforms scan normally.
On the door
- Scan as you normally would — imported tickets show the same result screens as RA-sold tickets.
- If a ticket won't scan, every imported ticket can be found on the Search tab and checked in manually. The platform the ticket was sold through is shown in the ticket's details.
On the Gates and Stats tabs
- Imported tickets sit together under a single Imported heading, with each ticket type listed beneath it.
- On the Stats tab you'll see a breakdown of scans for each type.
- On the Gates tab you can enable or disable individual types for a device, just as you would for tickets sold on RA.
- Imported tickets count towards your entry stats and expected attendance, alongside RA-sold tickets and your guestlist.
Good to know
- Tickets sharing the same type are grouped together regardless of which platform they came from. If First Release has been imported from both DICE and Skiddle, it appears once under Imported rather than as two entries.
- To check which platform an individual ticket was sold through, look it up on the Search tab.
